The New Horizons Excellence in Education (EIE) Awards, acknowledge the enhancement of student success within the VCCS. Student success is enhanced by an array of strategies: pen and paper as well as mouse and keyboard, collaborative work, classroom assessments, and dynamic discussions prompted by thoughtful questions. All of these strategies, and others, can find a home and be celebrated in these awards.
Within the EIE awards there are three categories: 1) Best Practices in Teaching Face-to-Face, Online and Student Success, 2) Improving Student Success – Institutional, and 3) Innovative Use of Technology in the Face-to-Face and Online Classroom.
Finalists will display their projects to the public during the Wednesday, April 3, 2013 evening reception from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Pocahontas A and B. Note that from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. our panel of judges will visit each table for a final evaluation of all the entries and will select the winners. At 5:30 p.m. all are welcome to meet with the finalists and talk with them about their projects.
Winners will be announced at our Awards Banquet on Thursday, April 4, 2013.
